I'm a bit confused, as I haven't seen a single mention anywhere else about OGL proposing to TinkerJil over the holidays.
I can't even find the report that I read: I can clearly remember the picture of the two of them, Andy in a jacket and white shirt, TinkerJil in a bright blue sleeveless dress (which looked fabulous, and brought out the colour of her eyes really well) with her hair in an Updo, and - not to be mean about it - covering her forehead in a very flattering way. They looked as though they were at a party or a social gathering of some sort. She was all brown arms and big eyes, he was all smiles. They looked lovely.
But I haven't seen anything else about it: I didn't dream it, did I?

I haven't seen anything either but it wouldn't surprise me at all to find out that the original report was true and that it was denied (& therfore pulled) to protect their privacy for as long as possible. I suspect that OGL is fiercly protective of her with the media. All "schpeculation", of course!

I would think the information was pulled - and it could be because it's not true just as easily as if it is true. We'll just have to wait I guess. Maybe she's a really smart girl and said - let's wait.....

LOL, LLB and I have been watching old recordings of the Giro and the Tour from last year, ones we didn't get time to watch at the time. Yes, that's how desperate we are for pedalling.

Anon from errr, sorry, don't know where you come from: I call her TinkerJil as her name is Jil, and some time ago one of the regular Schlecklanders, Figgy (Susan) referred to the pair of them as Peter P'Andy and Tinkerjil, being a pun or play on words on Peter Pan and Tinkerbell. I rather liked TinkerJil for her, as she's slender: and being a basketball player, she must spend a lot of time jumping up in the air, so the image of her hovering with wings is also quite appropriate.
So now you know. And I'm always amazed when outsiders get here by googling "Jil Delvaux" because I only ever call her TinkerJil! (memo to self: use proper names in order to get more page views)
I think you are all right, the report has probably been pulled, in the same way that TinkerJil's own Facebook etc were pulled when she suddenly came to prominence.
After all, maybe she said "No"!
LOL, no I'm joking, who would say "no" to a proposal from Andy? Well, I would, as he's somewhat too young for me, but I can't imagine TinkerJil saying no. Perhaps she was very sensible and said Yes, but not for a while. In which case they probably would want to keep it quiet.

ReplyDeleteBarbaraq, that's an interesting question, and I would not blame them for keeping it very quiet, but Andy has very sensible down-to-earth parents, who would - I am sure - encourage him to wait a little. And his brother certainly didn't rush into marriage.
I think it's more likely that he asked, but they are just going to keep it quiet for a while.
We shall have to keep an eye out for photos of her wearing any rings!
